Meet Our Attorneys

Michael A. Goodwin

Mike graduated from the Pennsylvania State University in 1983 with B.S. degree in Mining Engineering. After graduating, he joined the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, serving as a patent examiner for almost three years. After leaving the Patent and Trademark Office, Mike moved to Colorado where he worked for Coors Brewing Company as an Engineer, providing patent liason and intellectual property management functions for the company.

Mike obtained his Juris Doctrate from the University of Denver, College of Law in 1991. Thereafter, he continued to work for Coors as an attorney in their Legal Department. Mike joined Klaas, Law, O'Meara & Malkin, P.C. in 1995, and has been a shareholder of the firm since 1998.

Mike is currently licensed to practice law in Colorado and has been admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office since 1987. Mike's experience spans all areas of Intellectual Property Law, with a particular emphasis on patent law and intellectual property licensing.
